Wednesday Group

The Rethink Wimbledon Wednesday Group was started 5 years ago by Merton and Sutton Rethink.  It provides a safe and pleasant environment, where people can drop-in on Wednesday evenings, have a meal, take part in activities such as quizzes, painting, playing scrabble or just socialize with friends.  There is always someone on hand ready to listen to problems.

It is run by volunteers and requires £2000 a year to keep it going.   The group has become a focus for people with mental health problems in the area and has evolved into a mutual support group, which has branched into other activities such as cinema visits and rambling at the weekend.  There are also plans to start an allotment group.   The idea for a sponsored bridge walk developed after some very successful walks in and around London.

The  Wimbledon Wednesday Group is for service users and meets every Wednesday from 5-8pm at the Wimbledon Guild, 30-32 Worple Road, Wimbledon.  For more information about the Wimbledon Wednesday Group please contact Jim Mitchell on 07896 989 218.
